Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

Blue Cliff College is in search of a Clinical Nursing Educator to engage in a range of essential responsibilities aimed at equipping students with the necessary knowledge and competencies for proficient entry-level practice. This role involves employing diverse instructional techniques, including lectures and practical demonstrations, alongside the use of audiovisual and technological resources to enhance learning experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops performance-based objectives and outlines for the curriculum in accordance with institutional guidelines and the standards set by the Department of Health and Hospitals.
  • Structures a comprehensive program of practical and theoretical instruction, which includes skill demonstrations pertinent to the Nurse Aide profession, as well as lectures covering relevant theories, techniques, and terminology.
  • Teaches students about the proper use, maintenance, and safe operation of tools and equipment, along with applicable codes and regulations associated with the Nurse Aide Program.
  • Emphasizes the significance of precision, organization, efficiency, resourcefulness, and professional work habits necessary for securing employment as a Nurse Aide.
  • Assigns coursework to students, evaluates homework, and administers assessments to measure student progress in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
  • Maintains accurate records of daily attendance and student performance, providing updates to the Lead Instructor and Director of Education.
  • Presents course material to students through various instructional methods, ensuring that classroom time is effectively utilized for both teaching and necessary clean-up.
  • Supports students, both individually and in groups, with lesson tasks to reinforce learning; addresses fundamental student inquiries and may facilitate study groups for exam preparation.
  • Implements classroom protocols, rules, and regulations; upholds classroom discipline and applies effective management strategies.
  • Participates in meetings and training sessions as required by the Lead Instructor, Program Chair, or Director of Education; engages in faculty meetings, educational conferences, and professional development opportunities.
  • Conducts class evaluations and completes other institutional assessments in line with college policies.
  • Provides recommendations to the Program Chair/Lead regarding curriculum enhancements that align with the objectives of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.
  • Supervises eligible students at designated clinical sites.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possession of an associate degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse with a current, valid license in good standing in Louisiana.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience as an LPN, specifically in caring for the elderly and/or chronically ill, or equivalent experience in settings such as nursing facilities, geriatrics departments, chronic care hospitals, or other long-term care environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in engaging effectively with students, colleagues, and the community.
  • Exhibits professional integrity and discretion in all interactions.

COMPENSATION

In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the salary range for this position is $90,000-$95,000 annually, based on experience. This range reflects base pay only and does not encompass additional components of the total rewards package. Your overall compensation will be influenced by factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience, potentially resulting in total compensation outside of this range.
