Houston Methodist Hospital seeks an experienced Mammography Specialist to join our team. This is a key position that plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Mammography Technologist II to work independently, exercising sound judgment and executing above-average clinical skills on challenging mammography procedures and patient care situations. The ideal candidate will be a mentor to junior staff members and students, providing guidance and education to help them build confidence in their skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of routine and specialized mammograms, ensuring exceptional patient care and adhering to mammography standards and guidelines established by governing agencies.
• Work closely with the direct patient care team to promote a positive work environment and contribute to a dynamic, team-focused work unit that actively helps one another achieve optimal department results.
• Collaborate with all members of the patient care team to ensure seamless communication and comprehensive care delivery.
• Guide and mentor junior staff members and students, using peer-to-peer accountability towards department goals for retention and employee engagement.
• Provide accurate explanations and instructions to patients and family members at an appropriate level, utilizing verbal and non-verbal skills, terminology, and language.
• Foster a positive and constructive teaching environment, engaging students and co-workers in learning opportunities that are valuable and in alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

• Three years' experience as a Mammography Technologist.
• Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations section.
• CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - State Licensure or CMRT-Temp - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - Temporary State Licensure, ARRT-R - Radiologic Technologist - Radiographer, ARRT-M - Radiologic Technologist - Mammography, BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA).
