PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for cleaning multiple guest rooms each day, which includes changing linens, making beds, dusting, sanitizing bathrooms, vacuuming, and polishing furniture and fixtures.
  • Restocks supplies such as drinking glasses and writing materials.
  • Maintains cleanliness in corridors and staircases.
  • Scrubs and sweeps bathroom floors.
  • Cleans carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, and drapes.
  • Dusts surfaces, washes walls and woodwork, and cleans windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays.
  • Transports waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Restocks bathroom essentials and replaces light bulbs as needed.
  • Thoroughly cleans bathroom vanities, toilets, mirrors, walls, and exhaust fans.
  • Conducts quality checks on televisions, telephones, air conditioning units, and smoke detectors.
  • Collects any items left behind in rooms and follows the hotel's Lost and Found procedures.
  • Reports maintenance issues to the appropriate department through established communication channels.
  • Takes responsibility for the careful use of supplies and equipment necessary for job duties.
  • Adheres to uniform standards at all times.
  • Achieves a score of 90% or higher on room inspections.
  • Greets each guest warmly and acknowledges their presence.
  • Possesses thorough knowledge of in-house products and local area information to assist guests when necessary.
  • Demonstrates proper organizational skills when stocking carts and ensures timely restocking after completing rooms.
  • Exhibits teamwork in maintaining cleanliness in common areas.
  • Responds promptly (within 10 minutes) to guest requests for housekeeping supplies.
  • Uses guest names consistently when entering occupied rooms.
  • Checks all vacant rooms daily to ensure accurate status.
  • Keeps the supply room clean, organized, and tidy.
  • Displays a collaborative attitude and assists colleagues when needed.

SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to understand, read, write, and speak basic English, facilitating communication with team members and guests.
  • Ability to apply common sense to follow simple instructions.
  • Ability to operate in standardized situations with minimal variables.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts.
  • Exceptional customer service skills are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle objects, reach with arms, and perform tasks such as stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
  • Frequently required to walk, climb, balance, and communicate verbally.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to use close vision, distance vision, and color vision effectively.
  • Able to function in mentally and physically demanding situations.

QUALIFICATION CRITERIA:

  • Professional demeanor and energetic attitude.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: four to six months of housekeeping experience or training preferred, but not mandatory.
