About the Role

Cook Children's Health Care System is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in providing high-quality care to pediatric patients. As an inpatient staff speech pathologist, you will be responsible for evaluating, treating, and providing home programming for children with feeding and swallowing disorders, as well as articulation, voice, resonance, fluency, and receptive/expressive language disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide speech language and feeding services for patients admitted to the hospital
  • Conduct swallow function studies for inpatients and outpatients in collaboration with the radiologist
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to enhance development, restore function, and prevent disability
  • Collaborate with other medical professionals, clinics, and agencies to provide comprehensive care
  • Document and communicate patient information to families, caregivers, and healthcare teams
Requirements
  • Masters degree in speech/language pathology or communication disorders
  • At least 2 years of pediatric feeding/swallowing experience in an acute pediatric hospital
  • BLS certification within 30 days of employment
  • State license or eligibility for state licensure
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech/Language Pathology or eligibility for application upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year
