Regional Bakery Custodian

At Hy-Vee, we're committed to providing a clean and safe environment for our customers and employees. As a Regional Bakery Custodian, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our bakery fulfillment center.

• Perform a variety of cleaning activities to maintain a sanitary and safe work environment
• Adhere to company policies and individual center guidelines
• Order cleaning products as needed and audit invoices for correctness
• Clean and disinfect areas, including sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming, power washing, scrubbing, dusting, and sanitizing
• Responsible for cleaning delivery vehicles, totes, and carts
• Monitor and report safety-related problems
• Collect and remove trash, and keep trash containers properly lined and cleaned
• Replenish assigned areas with hand cleaner, paper towels, toilet tissue, and other disposable items
• Maintain janitorial equipment, tools, and storage areas in a clean and safe state
• Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of one year experience as a custodian or equivalent experience
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions

This is a fast-paced work environment that requires some pressure to meet deadlines. You may be exposed to dirt, noise, temperature extremes, dampness, vibrations, equipment movement hazards, cleaning chemicals/solvents, and electrical shock.
