Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team at the Hanford Vit Plant, a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste into a safe form for disposal.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing utility and process systems to meet required codes and standards, developing design basis documents, and providing guidance to junior engineers.

You will work closely with other engineering disciplines and the client to develop the design, ensuring that it meets schedule requirements and is cost-effective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing fluid and gas systems in the WTP process facilities
  • Preparing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), technical reports, and design documentation
  • Interfacing and coordinating with other engineering disciplines and the client
  • Mentoring junior engineers
  • Completing assigned engineering tasks within budget and schedule
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BS degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • 5-8 years of progressive related experience, or 9-12 years of experience in lieu of education
  • Extensive technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, and computer software
  • Working knowledge of Bechtel Engineering procedures and BPS
  • Nuclear experience in working with quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000
