Class A Truck Driver Responsibilities:

  • Manage regional routes with occasional overnight layovers
  • Prioritize safety at all times
  • Understand and operate your assigned delivery vehicle safely
  • Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of up to 80,000 lbs.
  • Ensure secure attachment of the trailer pin to the tractor unit
  • Transport goods from the origin to the designated destination
  • Secure contents within the truck to prevent damage
  • Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm deliveries
  • Adhere to a predetermined route for timely deliveries
  • Communicate with dispatch as necessary
  • Verify that shipment contents match the manifest
  • Conduct vehicle inspections before and after each trip
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle
  • Report any significant maintenance or delivery issues to management
  • Follow the delivery schedule and rest appropriately
  • Keep detailed driving and delivery logs to track working hours
  • Comply with company policies and regulations
  • Observe all traffic laws and adjust driving according to weather and road conditions
  • Adhere to ICC and DOT regulations

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A CDL required
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations
  • Pass MVR in accordance with company standards
  • Successfully complete a company-paid post-offer DOT physical and drug screening
