Job Overview

The primary radiologic technologist will support advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventional radiology procedures while conducting CT imaging. This role requires proficiency in both IR and CT modalities, with the flexibility to transition between them as needed.

The individual is accountable for ensuring precision and maintaining awareness of all radiation and patient safety protocols related to invasive and diagnostic examinations. A comprehensive understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy, physiology, radiation safety, interventional supplies, and equipment functionality is essential. The technologist will identify and address equipment operation issues and discrepancies. Anticipating patient needs and concerns is crucial, along with determining the necessary care required. Professional judgment and critical thinking are vital when executing procedures, especially in high-pressure situations. The technologist will collaborate effectively with radiologists, clinicians, and colleagues to achieve optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Possess a valid Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) certification.
  • Maintain a valid CRT and California Fluoroscopy permit.
  • Hold ARRT Certification and a current CPR Card.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating radiology equipment, including radiographic/fluoroscopic machines and Interventional Radiology apparatus.
  • Adapt to new technologies and equipment upgrades as the field of radiology evolves.
  • Assist physicians in specialized diagnostic and interventional procedures by managing equipment, preparing procedure trays, and explaining processes to patients under the supervision of an Interventional Radiologist.
  • Exhibit extensive knowledge of radiology principles, including anatomy, physiology, radiation protection, and surgical procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ARRT VI and ARRT CT certifications obtained within six months of hire.
  • Experience with I.V. Certification and Contrast Administration is advantageous.
