We are currently seeking a Field Engineering Specialist for the Phalanx C-RAM/CIWS to join our Field Engineering team. This role is integral to the Land-Based PHALANX Weapons System (LPWS) program, aimed at delivering expert support to meet LPWS operational requirements.
This position involves rotational deployments to international locations for extended periods. When not deployed, the role will be based at our designated facility with opportunities for assignments at various domestic and international sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and provide training to personnel on all configurations of the LPWS.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and alignment of systems to meet specifications.
- Utilize technical documentation and testing equipment to troubleshoot and repair system faults.
- Deliver ongoing training in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the LPWS.
- Assist in acquiring LPWS OEM data through appropriate channels.
- Support the installation, maintenance, and operation of LPWS and associated equipment.
- Document field operational capabilities and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Perform routine maintenance and administrative functions on systems.
- Execute additional technical tasks as required.
Employment is contingent upon meeting all medical requirements for international assignments.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree with 7 years of experience; additional experience may substitute for formal education.
- Advanced training in military Close-in Weapon Systems (CIWS).
- Experience in Combat Systems Support.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining the Phalanx MK15 CIWS.
- Experience in fault detection and correction of computer systems.
- Knowledge of systems integration and electro-mechanical systems.
- Understanding of military protocols.
- Familiarity with operating systems and database management.
- Active U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory for security clearance eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Field experience or military service related to CIWS and missile systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage project timelines effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Work Environment:
- Willingness to travel extensively, including to international locations.
- Ability to deploy to remote areas with minimal notice.
- Comfortable working in challenging environments, including extreme temperatures.
- Capability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Flexibility to work long hours and be on call as needed.
- Ability to navigate rough terrain.
