Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Sonographer to join our team at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing adult and pediatric echocardiograms, transesophageal echoes, stress echo, and other non-invasive cardiovascular testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform adult and pediatric transthoracic, transesophageal, stress, and contrast echocardiograms.
  • Provide mobile cardiovascular sonography services to outreach sites.
  • Receive and record telephone requests for service and schedule patients for diagnostic studies.
  • Perform all office-related duties, including chart preparation, collection of patient information, and recording of daily charges.
  • Utilize the Medical Center's Electronic Medical Record for documentation and charging.
  • Assist students and cardiology fellows as needed by providing an environment for learning and sharing professional knowledge and guidance.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular sonography program, CAAHEP accreditation preferred.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonographer with active registration through American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • At least two years of full-time employment in adult cardiovascular sonography preferred.
  • Must be able to work comfortably with patients of all ages.
  • Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Provider - American Heart Association or Professional Rescuer-American Red Cross) prior to employment or within 30 days of hire and maintain current status.
