Job Summary

The Claim Consultant works with a high level of independence handling high exposure claims and litigation potentially in multiple lines of coverage. This role requires a strong understanding of industry practices, standards, and concepts within the field of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Multi-jurisdictional coverage analysis, liability and damage investigation, claim evaluation, negotiation and litigation/arbitration management
  • Frequent oral and written communication with customers, defense counsel, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to properly manage expenses and make decisions related to a wide variety of situations within management limits

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus Certificate, e.g. INS 21, 22, 23, or equivalent, related experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years claims technical experience, to include bodily injury and litigation claims handling or equivalent
  • Mastery of multiple lines of business written by the company and a working knowledge of multi-state policies
