Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in Lexington, IN. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and test plant machinery and equipment to detect malfunctions and perform routine maintenance procedures.
  • Dismantle equipment and install new or repaired parts, and move machinery and equipment as required.
  • Perform welding tasks, including stick, MIG, acetylene torch, and carbon arc, for general shop and field work.
  • Read blueprints, schematic drawings, and manuals to determine work procedures and diagnose problems.
  • Follow oral or written instructions and work assignments, and complete checklists and work orders as required.
  • Lubricate equipment as required during maintenance procedures or as part of the lubrication routes.
  • Clean and refill oil reservoirs and sumps as required, and maintain general cleanliness of work areas.
  • Maintain all tools and equipment used on the job in good working order, and participate in the training of mechanical maintenance apprentices and new employees.
  • Follow all safety policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment, and maintain an awareness of plant environmental standards.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Certification as a Millwright, or minimum five years welding and related mechanical experience and/or training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and training.
