Position Summary:
The General Production Manager (GPM) plays a pivotal role in supervising multiple departments, ensuring that we meet our organizational goals related to quality, yield, productivity, cost, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee departmental operations to achieve company objectives.
2. Develop and mentor Supervisors and TEAM Members, aligning with company policies to fulfill current and future operational needs.
3. Provide timely feedback to Plant/Shift Manager regarding productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost, and safety, and address any discrepancies promptly.
4. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations, including USDA, SSOP, HACCP, and OSHA safety standards.
5. Maintain a safe working environment by conducting safety orientations, training sessions, and meetings aimed at achieving zero incidents.
6. Participate in departmental planning meetings and contribute to the development and testing of new techniques and processes.
7. Ensure proper maintenance of company assets and recommend necessary acquisitions to support business goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or a related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of five years of experience in the poultry processing industry with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential.
- Ability to evaluate supervision objectively and fairly.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a strong internal drive to succeed.
- Capacity to prioritize tasks and adapt quickly to changing production demands with minimal supervision.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to make independent decisions.
