Responsibilities & Requirements

The Patient Registration Specialist plays a crucial role in our operations, with key responsibilities including:

Welcoming and registering patients while providing exceptional customer service and effective communication. Reviewing scheduled outpatient appointments to ensure proper screening for financial assistance. Discussing payment options and arrangements with patients to facilitate their care. Assisting patients in completing necessary financial assistance forms and applications. Conducting quality reviews of patient accounts and ensuring accurate updates. Maintaining knowledge of compliance requirements and necessary registration documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

Prior experience in patient registration or scheduling. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in computer skills, customer service, and phone etiquette. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively across all levels. Competence in learning specific patient processing software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and often challenging environment while maintaining professionalism. Flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of the department.

Education:

A high school diploma is required. One or more years of experience in a medical office or customer service setting is preferred.
