Job Description

Total public members: 6

Appointment method: The Mayor appoints the councilors.

Term length: 3 years

Residency requirement: Members must be DC residents.

The Multimodal Accessibility Advisory Council (MAAC) serves as an advisory body to the Mayor, the City Council, and District agencies. The council's purpose is to make local transit and public spaces in Washington D.C. more accessible to people with disabilities.

The council is composed of six community members who represent the disability advocacy community and reside in the District.

Estimated Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 per year

The council works closely with DDOT to ensure reasonable accommodations for meetings and an annual operating budget that includes funds for website maintenance.
