Transportation Specialist Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled transportation specialist to join our team at Portland Public Schools. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a school bus along a predetermined route, following established schedules and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bus environment, adhering to all applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Develop strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues through excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of driving experience, preferably in a school setting.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination and obtain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License.
  • Certification in first aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) procedures is highly desirable.
