About the Position
We are seeking highly motivated and dynamic candidates to teach a range of courses within the Health Care Ancillaries/Vocational Education discipline. As an Adjunct Instructor, you will be responsible for creating engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning. You will work collaboratively with students, staff, faculty, and administrators to promote academic excellence and provide exceptional service to our community.

Responsibilities
* Teach a variety of phlebotomy courses, promoting hands-on learning and critical thinking skills* Develop and implement effective lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations to measure student progress* Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse student populations* Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and ideas to improve instructional methods and student outcomes* Stay current with industry developments, updates, and certifications to ensure relevance and quality in instruction* Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge

Requirements
* A bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, such as nursing, medical technology, or health education* Current licensure or certification in California as a physician, physician assistant, registered nurse, respiratory care practitioner, or certified phlebotomy technician* Two years of professional experience in phlebotomy or a related field* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills* Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels* Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students* Commitment to teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds* Familiarity with curriculum design, implementation, and assessment* Experience with online or hybrid course delivery preferred* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite applications* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines* Willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities* Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information* Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and build strong relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders* Willingness to participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge* Adherence to all LACCD policies, procedures, and guidelines* Employment is contingent upon verification of qualifications and successful completion of background check* Salary: $79.20 per standard hour, plus potential doctoral differential
