Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Material Handler I to join our team at RK Logistics Group Inc. As a Material Handler I, you will be responsible for processing parts through our organization, both physically and through our WMS system of record.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items or signal machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks and loading docks.
  • Keep inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.
  • Unload customer product as it comes inbound, load product for outbound, weigh product, and take measurements.
  • Receive, unpack, check, and verify product to ensure accuracy.
  • Process receiving exceptions as needed and use handheld RF tools to receive, pick, stock check, and ship product into WMS.
  • Conduct stock checks, part number verification, cycle counts, and support physical inventory.
  • Pack, re-pack, and wrap product for shipping/storage.
  • Consolidate partial pallets into full pallets for location/inventory consolidation.
  • Label parts as needed during receipt, put away, picking, or shipping process.
  • Pick parts for order fulfillment, shipments, scrap requests, etc.
  • Strap/unstrap or open pallets, boxes, or crates as needed.
  • Stage completed orders or shipments to staging area.
  • Ensure that orders and shipping material are accompanied with proper delivery documents.
  • Inform lead/supervisor in a timely manner about OSD found while picking orders or shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Learns and adheres to workplace safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Complete paperwork thoroughly and promptly.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assist other teams as needed.
  • Cross-train as needed to learn other warehouse functions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-2 years warehouse and logistics experience.
  • Prior forklift certification with 1-2 years' forklift experience.
  • Customer and quality-focused.
  • LEAN understanding with ability to fully execute 5S and 7S.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Understanding of logistics, shipping, receiving, and standard work instruction protocols.
  • Strong math and writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Able to work independently.
  • High sense of accuracy.
  • Assertive, able to meet high volume and demand.
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of inventory control.
  • Excellent time management.
