Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our hemodialysis healthcare team at Fresenius Medical Care North America. As a Dialysis Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to our patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care for assigned patients, including performing all technical aspects of dialysis procedures as prescribed.
  • Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters on dialysis flow sheets and document other information related to patient care in the individual patient record.
  • Assist in developing and following the teaching plan to educate patients and families regarding end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications.
  • Participate in staff meetings and assist in short-term and long-term patient care plan meetings.
  • Acquire knowledge in current practice related to dialysis principles and technique by participating in scheduled in-service classes.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN, LVN)
  • Current appropriate State licensure
  • One year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
  • Hemodialysis experience preferred but not required
  • Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis
  • Successfully complete CPR Certification
