As a Shift Lead at Hawkers, you will play a key role in supervising team members and overseeing guest service, as well as assisting with operational functions as needed. You will be responsible for ensuring that our kitchen is running smoothly, that our team members are motivated and trained, and that our guests receive exceptional service.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise team members to complete tasks and achieve goals in the absence of management
  • Ensure that the kitchen is properly stocked and that all necessary supplies are available
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of food safety and quality
  • Lead pre-shift meetings and ensure that team members are aware of their responsibilities and goals
  • Manage the BOH (Back of House) area, including scheduling, breaks, and training
  • Understand and execute labor decisions, such as making cuts or calling in support to meet business needs
  • Open and close the restaurant following proper procedures
  • Execute POS (Point of Sale) supervisor responsibilities, such as discounts, comps, and clocking procedures
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of health and safety, including walk-in coolers, labeling, and expo stations
  • Remain current on all company policies and procedures
  • Understand and execute FIFO (First-In-First-Out) process, dish machine maintenance, and safety management
  • Be a team player and support team members at every opportunity
  • Stay current and up-to-date on all restaurant systems
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Understand our concept, culture, and food
  • Development path: serve as in-store trainer and NRO trainer, and/or display growth potential for a leadership role
  • Proficient in all Hawkers processes
  • No disciplinary actions for the last 6 months (internal candidates)
  • Cross-trained in all positions
  • Passed all tests with a 90% or higher
  • Can give written and spoken direction in English
  • Proficient with computer programs such as Word, Excel, etc.
Experience
  • Supervisory experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated competency in current role
  • Proven ability to motivate and lead diverse teams
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards
  • Solid communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Scheduling flexibility is required
