Health Inspector

Marblehead Corp. is seeking a skilled Health Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public health practice, investigation, and inspection. Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct sanitary inspections at various establishments and facilities, including food establishments, rental housing, and body art establishments.
* Identify and notify responsible individuals of health code violations and provide guidance on corrective actions.
* Investigate complaints of code violations, prepare written reports, and issue citations as necessary.
* Review plans for new or remodeled food service establishments and provide recommendations on health regulations.
* Conduct sanitary inspections of hot lunch programs at schools and prepare written reports.
* Perform lead paint tests and investigate and enforce state sanitary codes related to public and private sewerage disposal, air, water, noise, food, health, and pest control.
* Represent Marblehead Corp. as a witness in court cases involving sanitary code violations.
* Perform other duties of a similar nature and complexity as directed.
Requirements:
* A minimum of two years of full-time or equivalent part-time technical or professional experience in public health practice, investigation, and inspection.
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
* Working knowledge of state and local regulations, codes, and ordinances that apply to public health.
* Valid Massachusetts driver's license required.
* Strong organization, communication, and writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Registration as a Sanitarian by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Sanitarians or the National Health Association.
