Key Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Control Systems Technician involves:
- Installation, programming, testing, calibration, operation, and repair of control systems, including software, hardware, and associated equipment.
- Working with various systems such as energy management, environmental control, boiler control, chiller control, and domestic water systems.
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of digital control concepts, including analog and digital inputs/outputs, sequences of operations, point addressable devices, closed-loop systems, device programming, serial communications, and computer networking.
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting control system issues and determining effective repair solutions.
- Advanced proficiency in utilizing PCs and application software.
- Experience with HVAC Building Automation Control Systems and effective system integration.
- Knowledge of IP-based networks and building automation communication protocols, including Niagara Tridium, BACnet, LonWorks, and Modbus.
- Ability to maintain open communication with management regarding any issues or changes.
- Collaboration with Operations Manager, Project Manager, and subcontractors to ensure efficient activity coordination.
- Establishing clear communication with customers and ensuring high levels of satisfaction by addressing their concerns and needs.
- Engaging with customers to understand operating problems and providing regular updates on service progress, along with recommending system enhancements or upgrades.
Requirements:
- Post High School Vocational School, relevant on-the-job experience, or an Associate's Degree.
- Experience in servicing HVAC Building Automation and Control systems (Direct Digital Control systems).
- Tridium AX or N4 certification is a plus.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check for access to various facilities.
