Job Summary:
The Garage Mechanic is a critical role within Bimbo Bakeries USA, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet vehicles. As a skilled mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on our trucks and trailers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with our fleet vehicles
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations
- Provide preventative maintenance and repairs to prevent downtime and ensure fleet readiness
- Collaborate with the Lead/Shop Foreman to prioritize work assignments and ensure efficient use of resources
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in light/medium duty truck repair
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to pass DOT Physical and DOT Road Test
- Ability to lift, push/pull up to 50lbs, stack/unstack or carry, stand and/or stoop for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to work 8+ hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
