Job Overview

BoMark Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all estimating functions, including development of project budgets, estimates, cost tracking, and project support for all divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement department standards and procedures
  • Review final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Maintain the company estimating database
  • Help manage department activities, provide regular feedback, and develop subordinates' skills
  • Manage estimates, review bid requests and proposals, and prepare weekly bid calendars
  • Delegate work assignments, set expectations, and monitor delegated activities
  • Attend job walks, report information back to manager, and prepare bid summaries
  • Analyze estimates vs. completed projects and provide tracking updates
  • Develop and provide estimating training and maintain department confidentiality

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years electrical estimating experience
  • Field experience as an electrician or a degree in Construction Management preferred
  • Extensive experience using estimating software
  • Strong ability to conceptually estimate electrical construction projects
  • Extensive working knowledge of electrical construction industry
  • Ability to understand all types of drawings and technical specifications
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code, fire alarm, and other systems
  • Strong analytical skills and statistical background
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in use of computers and Microsoft Office
