Exciting Opportunity for a Surgical Technologist at UPMC South Hills Surgery Center

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our team at UPMC South Hills Surgery Center. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining a safe and sterile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain aseptic environments for surgical procedures, including setting up sterile equipment and supplies.
  • Assist surgeons and surgical assistants during procedures, passing instruments and supplies as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and safely.
  • Participate in the preparation and care of patients, including washing, shaving, and ensuring aseptic incision sites.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective surgical procedures.

Requirements:

  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Technologist Surgery Certified (TSC) within 6 months of program completion.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal, Act 33 with renewal, Act 34 with renewal, and Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.
