Permit Writer

Total Safety is seeking a highly skilled Permit Writer to join their team. As a Permit Writer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of employees, contractors, and the general public by issuing and managing permits for various work activities.

• Issue and manage permits for hot work, confined space entry, and other high-risk activities
• Audit compliance with regulatory agency requirements and facility safety procedures
• Conduct regular field inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective measures
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of facility safety procedures and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and contractors to ensure safe work practices and procedures
• Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory changes

• Minimum 8 years of direct related safety experience in the petrochemical/refining industry or 10 years of experience in operations with 5 years of direct related safety experience
• Previous experience writing permits in the petrochemical/refining industry
• Strong understanding of facility safety procedures and regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
