Position: Facilities Maintenance Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician, under the guidance of the Facilities Team Leader, is tasked with performing routine maintenance activities within the facility. Responsibilities encompass a variety of tasks including light carpentry, electrical work, HVAC maintenance, and plumbing repairs. Additional duties may include general cleaning and other assigned responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct painting, remodeling, and refurbishing of spaces as required.
  • Maintain and monitor all equipment and facility amenities.
  • Replace light bulbs in both interior and exterior areas as necessary.
  • Assist in the upkeep of the exterior property.
  • Assemble and repair retail fixtures and other installations as needed.
  • Change locks and manage key duplication as required.
  • Rearrange and/or replace office furniture as needed.
  • Repair or replace ceiling tiles as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic plumbing and electrical issues.
  • Document maintenance activities and repair requests using spreadsheets.
  • Be available for tasks that may occur outside of standard working hours.
  • Participate in activities beyond the scope of Goodwill as requested.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fundamental knowledge of carpentry, electrical systems, plumbing, etc.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Familiarity with email and basic computer applications.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is preferred.
  • Experience with MS Teams is advantageous.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor despite interruptions and distractions.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and appropriate insurance coverage.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • This role may involve travel to various locations on a daily basis.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodations.
