Warehouse Coordinator Job Description

About the Role:

The Warehouse Coordinator plays a vital role in the success of MasTec Communications Group by ensuring the efficient movement of materials within the distribution center and from the loading platform. This position requires a high level of quality work, a knack for problem-solving, and a hands-on approach to work.

Responsibilities:

• Move materials within the distribution center and from the loading platform by carrying, pushing, rolling, or operating hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, motorized conveyors, or other material handling equipment.
• Receive incoming inventory & Supply items, log into the company warehouse system, and stock inventory in the proper location.
• Read work orders, shipping orders, or follow verbal instructions.
• Fill customer invoices. Check part numbers, clean and pack inventory items.
• Inspect inventory for defects, scratches, or other damage. Notify Warehouse Manager of problems.
• Follow all company safety and accident procedures while on company premises or operating company vehicles or equipment.
• Track all inventory in the appropriate system.
• Organize and clean warehouse space and company equipment as needed.
• Report any customer problems or concerns immediately.
• Coach fellow associates on warehouse operational practices and procedures, equipment operation, and safety procedures when needed.
• Enforce policies and procedures to ensure efficient, effective, and safe warehouse operations.
• Evaluate current processes and procedures and recommend changes to warehouse management.
• Contribute ideas on ways to reduce warehouse cost per unit and increase productivity.
• Maintain working knowledge of warehouse data system and perform various tasks within the system.
• Deliver supplies and equipment in a timely fashion while observing all regulated DOT and OSHA standards.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift operating experience (Forklift Certification a plus).
• Ability to operate personal computers and software programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• At least 1 year of warehouse experience.
