Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with testing, screening, and procedures, ensuring a positive and respectful experience.
- Work alongside healthcare providers to deliver efficient and effective care, adhering to agency protocols and procedures.
- Triaging patients, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with medical procedures, including surgical abortion services up to 23.6 weeks.
- Provide non-judgmental and empathetic care to patients, maintaining a warm and caring demeanor.
- Perform injections, blood draws, and basic lab work, following California code of regulations.
- Process specimens for external lab tests, obtain vital signs, and clean and sterilize equipment.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, referring patients for follow-up medical services, and supporting clinical staff with various tasks.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant school/program or Medical Assistant Certification by a certifying organization approved by the Medical Board of California.
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a clinical setting, with recent experience performing blood draws and injections desirable.
- Reproductive, managed/primary health care, and/or abortion services experience desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member, demonstrating mature judgment, initiative, and critical thinking.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to diverse communities.
- Accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to read and implement written instructions.
- Ability to physically assist patients in distress and transport patients from procedure to recovery room.
