To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A Master's Degree in a Human Service field (e.g. Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, etc.)
  • At least 2 years' experience in the mental health field, with hospital experience preferred
  • Licensure/Certification: LCSW, LPC, LPA or LMFT or active provisional license; CPI Certification; CPR Certification (Preferred)
  • Knowledge and skills:
  • Developmental psychology and needs of various populations
  • Short term/acute care stabilization mental health treatment
  • Cognitive behavioral theory and systems theory
  • Maintaining therapeutic relationships with patients and families
  • Assessment skills for evaluating mental illness and substance abuse in child, adolescent, and adult populations
  • Facilitation skills for leading process, psycho education, and multifamily groups
  • Treatment skills for working with patients and their significant others on safety in one or two sessions
