Job Title: Sous Chef

About the Role:

The Delegate Hotel is seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our back-of-house management team, you will be responsible for creating memorable experiences for our guests through exceptional food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring the highest level of food quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Coordinate food production schedules and ordering, monitoring portions to control food costs.
  • Supervise and direct kitchen staff, establishing and enforcing strict adherence to health department guidelines and kitchen safety protocols.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities, including hiring, training, and performance management.

Requirements:

  • Degree from a reputable culinary school or college, or 3 years of culinary experience in a polished casual or family restaurant.
  • 2 years of previous kitchen management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Food Safety certification at manager level.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, managers, and staff.
