POSITION SUMMARY:

The Continuous Improvement Manager, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, plays a pivotal role in the establishment, execution, and maintenance of the Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing framework at Piper Aircraft.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Lead and advance the organization's Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  2. Design and implement the CI/Lean framework tailored for Piper Aircraft.
  3. Identify or create training materials focused on Lean methodologies and World Class Manufacturing principles.
  4. Oversee the training curriculum for all Lean Tools, including 5S, Kaizen, and Root Cause Analysis, while assessing their effectiveness.
  5. Facilitate Kaizen events and mentor others in facilitation techniques.
  6. Evaluate throughput challenges, pinpoint bottlenecks, and develop actionable plans to resolve them.
  7. Assess the outcomes of Lean implementation efforts.
  8. Educate and apply problem-solving methodologies across all organizational levels.
  9. Coach plant personnel in Lean tools and their application, including cascade training.
  10. Design and manage the Lean Manufacturing implementation strategy.
  11. Develop Lean tools optimized for the current operational environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has limited supervisory duties. It may involve training and assisting other employees and facilitating cross-functional project planning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

The individual must possess strong communication skills to interact effectively with both internal and external stakeholders in written and verbal forms. A collaborative spirit, self-motivation, and the ability to thrive in a cross-functional team setting are crucial.
