Job Description

The position of Application Architect is a critical role within our organization, responsible for designing and developing enterprise-level application solutions. As a key member of our IT team, you will work closely with cross-functional groups to develop and implement application architecture plans that support the company's short- and long-term business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop application strategy in support of business plans and software development requirements.
  • Participate in the development of company business system architecture plans and review cost and feasibility of system requests.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of programming languages and designing, coding, testing, and research of emerging technologies.
  • Lead complex projects and participate in larger initiatives, solving technical and operational problems.
  • Act as a resource for teammates with less experience and oversee workflow, providing coaching and training for a small team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and eight years of experience in development or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices.
  • Understanding of multiple disciplines/processes related to the position.
  • Experience applying and utilizing enterprise architecture standards.
  • Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.
  • Ability to plan and manage projects, solve complex problems, and provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Knowledge of one or more of technologies such as JEE, JAVA Beans, JavaScript, Web Services, SOAP Mobile, WebSphere technologies, Microsoft Technologies such as NET (e.g., VB .Net, C#, or C++, ASP.Net), or COBOL/Mainframe legacy EIS Job Inventory 15 modernization tools and integration techniques including COBOL, WSED, CICS, Assembler, and JCL, XML.
  • Database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 and proficiency in PL/SQL.
  • Solid working knowledge of UML and design tools.
  • Banking or financial services experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Able to access and interpret client information received from the computer and able to hear and speak with individuals in person and on the phone.
  • Able to work standard office equipment, including PC keyboard and mouse, copy/fax machines, and printers.
  • Able to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need.
  • Minimal and up to 10% travel.
