Position Overview:

The role of Kitchen Sanitation Specialist is ideal for individuals who take pride in cleanliness and organization. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the kitchen and dishwashing areas are maintained in a spotless and orderly manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize commercial dishwashing machinery to effectively clean and sanitize all kitchenware, including dishes, utensils, and cookware.
  • Efficiently load and unload dish racks to optimize the washing and drying process.
  • Systematically organize clean kitchen items in their designated storage locations.
  • Inspect all items for food residue prior to loading them into the dishwasher.
  • Manually wash items that are unsuitable for machine washing.
  • Assist in the upkeep of kitchen equipment and ensure a tidy work environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the kitchen and surrounding areas by regularly sweeping and mopping.
  • Manage waste disposal and assist with incoming deliveries.
  • Adhere to food safety protocols, report any equipment malfunctions, and provide support to kitchen staff as necessary.
  • Maintain a positive demeanor in a fast-paced setting while following health and safety regulations.
  • Perform additional cleaning tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a dishwasher is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Physical endurance to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment with a keen eye for detail.
  • Basic understanding of dishwashing methods and sanitation practices.
  • Willingness to learn from experienced kitchen personnel.
  • Strong time management skills, flexibility for varying shifts, and effective communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and the physical capability to perform cleaning duties.
  • A positive attitude, dependability, and a valid State Food Handler Certification.
