Overview:

Role Purpose:

This role is responsible for supporting the physiological, hemodynamic, and imaging monitoring, and assists in cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional procedures. Collaborates with the RN to provide patient care and education for patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivers proficient patient care to designated populations by accurately gathering and interpreting data, making informed decisions based on knowledge of age-specific growth and development, and effectively adapting procedures and treatments as necessary.
  • Communicates significant patient changes and conditions to team members and multidisciplinary caregivers effectively.
  • Assists physicians directly in executing diagnostic and interventional procedures, adhering to sterile techniques and departmental protocols.
  • Facilitates and oversees the collection and analysis of physiological, hemodynamic, and angiographic data.
  • Adheres to all medical center, departmental, and safety policies and procedures. Proactively identifies safety issues within the work environment.
  • Maintains active access credentials for software systems that support patient care and education.
  • Records online charges for patient-care services; responsible for revenue reconciliation and correcting charge discrepancies as needed.
Work Schedule:

Full Time, Day Shift (1 day on call and every 4th weekend)

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a Cardiovascular Technology Program with current credentialing or board eligible and must pass board exam within 4 months of start date OR
  • Graduate of a Radiological Technology Program and current licensure in the state of Iowa OR
  • Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nursing program and current licensure in the state of Iowa or qualified multistate licensure required OR
  • Graduate of a Surgical Technology program required, certification preferred OR
  • Graduate of a Respiratory Technology program and current licensure in the state of Iowa
  • Preferred clinical experience in cardiology, cardiac cath lab, radiology areas, or procedural units.
