Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to join our team in a part-time capacity. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical and general duties in a laboratory setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and specialized testing and procedures with supervision as appropriate.
  • Operate a variety of laboratory instruments and maintain related records.
  • Perform quality control and instrument check procedures.
  • Identify and classify microorganisms found in bodily fluids, exudates, skin scrapings, autopsy, and surgical specimens.
  • Group or type blood of donors and recipients, and determine compatibility of donor blood products with intended recipients.
  • Perform chemical and/or immunological tests to identify and/or quantitate substances found in blood and other body fluids.
  • Count, describe morphology of, and perform specialized studies on blood and other body fluid cells.
  • Prepare and maintain paraffin, reagents, and other solutions and stains according to standard formulas.
  • Train other employees in day-to-day procedures.
  • Consult with medical staff and other healthcare providers on matters relating to laboratory services.
Requirements
  • Prior lab experience and knowledge.
  • Completion of student clinical rotations.
  • ASCP certification.
  • BS degree required.
