Position Overview

Role Summary

The Custodial Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the Transitional Living Center.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
  2. Collect and dispose of waste from administrative areas and classrooms.
  3. Ensure the lobby is clear of donations before the start of business hours.
  4. Service and maintain cleanliness in restrooms.
  5. Polish and clean furniture and fixtures.
  6. Wash windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions.
  7. Dust and clean various surfaces including furniture and equipment.
  8. Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water with detergents or other agents.
  9. Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors as required.
  10. Restore and maintain the interior of the building.
  11. Utilize solvents and tools to clean and maintain various fixtures.
  12. Adhere to safety protocols when using chemical cleaners and equipment.
  13. Assist in moving heavy items as necessary.
  14. Report any major repair needs to the supervisor.
  15. Order supplies and equipment necessary for cleaning tasks.
  16. Set up and take down furniture for events.
  17. Apply pest control measures to prevent infestations.
  18. Perform additional maintenance tasks as assigned.
  19. Utilize protective gear and follow safety guidelines.
  20. Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and tools.
  21. Complete other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This role requires physical stamina, including the ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary as shifts may change to ensure coverage.

Qualifications

Minimum of two years of experience in a related field is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently while being a collaborative team member. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.

Skills and Competencies

Successful candidates will possess good diagnostic skills for minor repairs, effective time management, and a positive attitude towards learning. Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks are crucial.

Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Licenses & Certifications

All candidates must pass a background check as part of the hiring process.
