Tutor for Students with Special Needs

Tutor Me Education, a leading provider of educational services in the primary and secondary education space, is seeking highly motivated Special Education Tutors to join our team. As a Special Education Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you will work closely with students who require additional support to achieve academic success.
The ideal candidate should have a passion for creating safe, nurturing, and dynamic learning environments that cater to the unique needs of each student. You will be responsible for conducting one-on-one tutoring sessions, developing customized lesson plans, and adapting instructional methods to meet the requirements of each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
About the Role- Tutoring takes place in the comfort of the student's home or preferred location.
- Mostly Monday through Friday afternoons, with flexible scheduling available.
- Earn an estimated $27-$37 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Potential for ~10-20 hours of tutoring per month.
- Conduct individualized tutoring sessions with students who have special education needs.
- Develop tailored lesson plans and teaching strategies that align with each student's IEP.
- Adapt instructional methods, materials, and assessments to meet the unique learning styles and requirements of each student.
- Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments to instructional techniques as needed.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and special education teams to ensure a cohesive and supportive educational experience.
- Maintain open communication with parents or guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns.
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that supports the emotional and behavioral development of students.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in special education and incorporate them into your teaching.
- Able to commute to/from Whittier, CA.
- Previous experience working with special education, accommodations, and students with learning disabilities is highly preferred.
- At least a Bachelor's degree.
- Ability to make learning engaging and interactive, with a focus on student interests and questions.
- Ability to pass a background check if required.
- Flexible scheduling to accommodate your needs.
- Set your own hourly rate within the company's guidelines.
