Endoscopy Technician

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Endoscopy Technician to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our medical team in the Endoscopy Unit.

Responsibilities:

• Admit patients, verify identification, and orient them to the unit.
• Take and record vital signs, and participate in the plan of care as directed by the Registered Nurse.
• Observe and report any unusual conditions, reactions, or occurrences to the nurse in charge.
• Assist physicians with procedures and transfer patients to x-ray when necessary.
• Order food and assist patients with meals as needed.
• Accompany patients to the lobby upon discharge and refer questions to the Registered Nurse.
• Provide locker space for patients' clothes and valuables, and give enemas as ordered by the physician.
• Clean and prepare stretchers, and schedule procedures for endoscopy.
• Compile endoscopy charts and assist with clerical responsibilities.
• Be prepared to respond to patient emergencies and have an awareness of emergency codes.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of two years' experience as a nursing assistant or technician.
• Graduate of an approved Nurses Assistant Program is preferred.
