Job Overview:

Position Summary:

The individual selected for this role will collaborate with project teams on civil engineering tasks and related technical projects. Responsibilities will encompass the creation of designs utilizing CADD modeling software, the preparation of spreadsheets and construction documentation, site development design, and report writing. Additionally, this role involves construction cost estimation, site observation, and facility inspections. Interaction with permitting agencies and public officials may also be required. The position may necessitate short-term assignments away from the primary work location.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other CAD-based civil design tools
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities
  • Capability and readiness to conduct fieldwork independently or as part of a team, both locally and out of town, as necessary
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain it within one year
  • Experience in preparing plans and specifications, analyzing alternatives, and developing quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
  • Background in construction administration, including review and response to payment applications, submittals, and claims, as well as interpreting plans, specifications, and bid documents
  • Ability to draft PowerPoint presentations, memos, and report text and figures
  • Two or more years of relevant work experience
  • Familiarity with Civil 3D software
Work Arrangement:

A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position, allowing for a combination of office and remote work.

Important Note:

Candidates must be prepared to work in environments with challenging terrain typical of construction sites and must be able to access facilities that may have limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions common in industrial settings. The role may require lifting or moving field-testing equipment. Safety training will be provided prior to work assignments. Participation in a drug screening program may be required at the request of clients.
