Civil Engineer III

Williamson County, TX is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer III to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for performing advanced transportation, drainage, and land development engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the analysis of subdivision plats, construction plans, permits, and compliance measures for various Land Development and Road and Bridge projects.
- Aid in the development and implementation of the Williamson County Long Range Transportation Plan.
- Aid with the implementation of subdivision regulation amendments.
- Assist with coordination of safety projects.
- Perform advanced planning, engineering analysis, and design for transportation, drainage, and land development projects.
- Prepare transportation engineering plans, specifications & estimates (PS&E).
- Analyze and prepare floodplain and detention studies.
- Monitor and supervise project quality control efforts and deliverables to ensure project is completed efficiently and effectively.
- Oversee and manage a variety of project budgets, schedules, work plans, and resource requirements for various construction projects.
- Prepare technical correspondence to professional consultants, other governmental entities, and the public.
- Review Floodplain Development Permits, including interpreting flood studies and determining site-specific flood elevations.
- Respond to drainage/floodplain complaints and coordinate with public to develop feasible solutions utilizing site visits, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and investigations.
- Coordinate and prepare documents and updates for engineering meetings and public hearings.
- Perform pavement field evaluations.
- Identify potential floodplain violations and collaborate with inspections on resolution.
- Attend all meetings and trainings, as required.
- Perform special duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Six (6) years roadway geometric and drainage design experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and engineering development systems and software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Eight (8) years of roadway geometric and drainage design experience.
- Five (5) years of FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) Floodplain Development experience, including 3D flood modeling experience.
- Two (2) years of pavement design experience.
- Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems).
- Four (4) years of traffic engineering experience.
- CFM (Certified Floodplain Manager) Certification.
