Speech Language Pathologist Job Summary

Petersburg Medical Center is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to provide high-quality patient care in a variety of settings, including Acute, Inpatient, Outpatient, Long Term Care, and Home Health. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adult and pediatric populations with a range of medical conditions, including dysphagia, aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia of speech, cognitive deficits, and reception/expressive language deficits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Present at medical rounds, staff, and family meetings
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as needed
  • Document patient information in electronic health records
Requirements:
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current licensure with the Alaska State Speech Language Pathology Board
  • Greater than one year of clinical experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic health records
