Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in Little Elm, TX. As an SLPA, you will play a crucial part in supporting licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) by participating in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of students with communication and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in conducting assessments, supervised by licensed SLPs, to identify speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
  • Support the creation of individualized treatment plans based on assessment results, client goals, and SLP guidance.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions as directed by licensed SLPs, encompassing speech and language therapy, voice therapy, fluency therapy, and swallowing therapy.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to provide support and education on communication disorders.
  • Assist in monitoring student progress, documenting treatment outcomes, and reporting findings to licensed SLPs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field.
  • Valid and active state certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
  • Preferred previous experience working as an SLPA or in a related role.
  • Knowledge of assessment tools and therapeutic techniques used in speech-language pathology.
  • Ability to work under the supervision of licensed SLPs and collaborate effectively within a team.
