Waste Collection Trainee Opportunity

The Waste Collection Trainee role provides practical training for individuals aspiring to build a career in waste management. Trainees collaborate with seasoned drivers to acquire essential skills and knowledge. Upon fulfilling the training requirements, trainees may advance to a permanent driving position. The primary duty involves collecting and transporting waste or recyclable materials along designated routes to disposal facilities or recycling centers.

Work Schedule:

  • Days: Monday - Friday
  • Hours: 6:00 am - 8:00 pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate the vehicle in accordance with regulations
  • Deliver waste removal services to clients
  • Address spills and overflows promptly
  • Maintain accurate route and log documentation
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and complete necessary logs
  • Engage professionally with clients
  • Perform additional assigned tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • Acquire DOT medical certification within 10 days
  • Secure class B CDL permit within 60 days
  • Obtain class B CDL within 90 days
  • Minimum age requirement of 19
  • Limited history of moving violations
  • No recent DUI or OVI offenses

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficient in map reading
  • Physical capability to meet job demands
  • Strong communication abilities

Working Environment:

  • Driving in traffic and confined areas
  • Exposure to waste materials
  • Travel between locations may be necessary
  • Flexible hours with potential for overtime
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US
