Anesthesia Technician II Position at NewYork-Presbyterian/ Columbia Medical Center

We are seeking an experienced Anesthesia Technician II to join our team at NewYork-Presbyterian/ Columbia Medical Center. This is a full-time position working an evening flex shift of 2 pm-10 pm.
Key Responsibilities- Provide approved assistance to Anesthesiologists / CRNA's during the induction, maintenance and emergence from Anesthesia.
- Assist the anesthesiologists/ CRNA's with the placement of regional anesthetics and invasive monitoring devices.
- Maintain on a daily and case to case basis, the equipment and supplies necessary to provide quality and cost effective anesthesia care to all patients cared for by the Anesthesia Department.
- Apply principles of infection control and safety, including proper handling, cleaning, sterilizing and/or disposal of equipment or supplies used in regular and contaminated cases.
- Set up sterile equipment, such as intravenous, central venous, arterial and pulmonary artery catheters using sterile technique.
- Set up, operate, and disassemble cell saver equipment and rapid infuser devices as assigned.
- Perform all standard procedural checks on equipment; report any malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
- Ensure the sterility and cleanliness of specialized equipment, including TEE's, fiber optic scopes and LMA's.
- Ensure workroom areas are clean and orderly before, during and after each shift.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Certification by American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum one year of experience as an anesthesia tech
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification
