Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Counselor to join our team at the Samuel and Althea Stroum Jewish Community Center. As a Youth Counselor, you will play a vital role in planning and leading activities for our J Kids programs, ensuring the safety and well-being of our young participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility for children under your care, providing a positive and safe experience.
  • Participate in and supervise activities during J Kids programming, including pool activities.
  • Plan and lead engaging activities that promote social and emotional growth.
  • Ensure program spaces are cleaned and maintained.
  • Support the emotional and social well-being of children through positive behavior management and conflict resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with the J Kids staff team and management.
  • Ensure children's safety and well-being at all times.
  • Represent the Stroum Jewish Community Center in a positive and professional manner.
  • Follow emergency procedures and protocols.
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.
Requirements
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification for adults, infants, and children.
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a similar role.
  • Customer-centric attitude, high level of empathy, and openness to learning.
