Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at the Duke Department of Neurosurgery. As a key member of our team, you will provide direct patient care services in collaboration with physicians and other advanced practice providers to patients with neurological and spinal disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and recording data in patient records.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including ordering laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures, and prescribing necessary treatments and services.
  • Monitor patient progress, report to supervising physicians, and maintain accurate records of patient care.
  • Participate in basic science and clinical research projects, and contribute to the education and training of students and residents.
Requirements
  • Nurse Practitioners: Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program, and current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
  • Physician Assistants: Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and licensure in the state of North Carolina.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Neurosurgery or Orthopaedics.
