Role Summary:

In this role focused on professional development, the individual will be an integral part of the foam pouring management team at the facility. The selected candidate will gain comprehensive knowledge of the pouring process to ensure adherence to safety, production, and quality standards while providing analytical support for process enhancements. A critical aspect of this position is the ability to identify and resolve mechanical and chemical issues related to foam production through effective root cause analysis. The role includes supervising and motivating a team of 5-8 hourly employees to meet daily production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize safety in all Pourline department activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols by all team members.
  • Oversee daily foam production and manage the hourly workforce as part of the training process, adjusting formulas as necessary to maintain product specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Manager or Pourline Manager on HR-related activities, including performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Engage in trials to develop new and enhanced manufacturing processes and foam formulations.
  • Provide analytical expertise for process improvements and statistical process control (SPC) and statistical quality control (SQC).
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve process-related issues.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and training sessions.
  • Manage inventory control and procurement of chemicals and raw materials.
  • Be proficient in handling all pour line functions within the SAP system.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required, with a preference for Chemical or Mechanical disciplines.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is advantageous.
  • Task-oriented individual capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of SPC/SQC and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Completion of a 40-hour HAZWOPER training is expected to ensure safe handling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical skills to assist in troubleshooting foam production issues; previous foam production experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Minitab experience is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to lead and facilitate diverse teams.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others in a team-oriented environment.
