Job Description

Heritage Christian Academy, Inc. seeks a seasoned Christian leader to serve as its Athletic Director. This pivotal role is crucial to the success of our Christ-centered, discipleship-oriented mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement policies and procedures as stated in the athletic department handbook.
  • Oversee the department's day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with HCA's mission and values.
  • Recruit, interview, and recommend coaches, ensuring they meet HCA and KSHSAA standards.
  • Coordinate athletic events, practices, and scrimmages, securing facilities and ensuring transportation and officiating needs are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of athletic participation, team achievements, and student awards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education (Master's preferred).
  • Coaching/Teaching Experience: Experience coaching or teaching, preferably at a Christian school.
  • Extensive experience in school-based athletic programs, including 5 years of progressive responsibility.
  • Possess or be eligible for Kansas certification, preferably in physical education for grades 7-12.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certification within six months of employment.

Professional Development:

  • Stay up-to-date on best practices in athletic administration through relevant clinics, seminars, and workshops.
  • Maintain subscriptions to professional publications in the field of athletics.
