Job Summary:

As a Physical Therapist at Northern Light Health, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working closely with other departments, physicians, and healthcare providers. This role requires direct patient care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. You will also be responsible for meeting all licensure and accreditation standards and promoting teamwork with physicians and other personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate job-related information to all members of the rehab team, families, and patients.
  • Consult with physicians and caregivers to promote continuity of care.
  • Proof of BLS.
  • Demonstrate assessment techniques used for evaluating neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, sensorimotor, cardiovascular, and respiratory functioning.
  • Assess patient needs and administer treatments to prevent or adapt to disabilities, report physical functioning, maintain muscle strength, and relieve pain.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of massage, exercise techniques, ultrasound, microwaves, infrared and ultraviolet radiation, electrical stimulation, heat, and cold treatments.
  • Effectively teach patients how to use prosthetics or other adaptive equipment.
  • Properly utilize all equipment for the job.
  • Maintain all equipment according to specifications.
  • Demonstrate proper use of body mechanics as required by the job.
  • Use all equipment, chemicals, or materials according to specifications.
  • Comply with all safety-related guidelines and principles.
  • Charting responsibilities are performed with consideration of all members of the department.

Credentials:

Required Physical Therapist State of Maine License or eligible to obtain.

Education:

Required Bachelor's Degree
